Services include:

  • conducting Rules of the Game accreditation courses
  • appointing officials to matches (1st, 2nd, scorers, linespeople, Chief Referees)
  • assessing and mentoring referees at all levels, seeking to upgrade
  • representing NSW referees in the national officiating framework. governed by the Australian Volleyball Referees Commission (AVRC);
  • developing pathways for referees who wish to use their skills at the highest levels of competition, be that State, National or International levels.

FOUNDATION REFEREE COURSE

The new referee framework has seen a new introductory course implemented. This course is delivered through the Volleyball Australia online learning platform and as such is more accessible to entry-level beginner referees. 

Target Audience: New beginner referees

Prerequisites: Nil

Duration: 4 hours in course work 

Cost Options: 

  • $44 - Foundation course only (Level 1)
  • $70 - Foundation course and Development workshop bundle (Level 1+2) – valid for 6 months

What Next?: Once you have registered and paid via the form above, your registration will be verified within 3 business days. You will then be emailed a Log-in password and link to the Volleyball Australia online learning platform. Once you have completed the course VA will send you a completion certificate and notify VA your new accreditation.

 

DEVELOPMENT REFEREE COURSE

This course is delivered through a one day face-to-face workshop and may include a practice component. Referees wishing to considered for Level 2 accreditation must successfully complete this workshop as well as meet the minimum practical refereeing requirements and competency standards.

Target Audience: Foundation Referees

Prerequisites: Candidates must be a current Foundation Referee

Workshop Duration: a one day (7hrs) workshop 

Cost Options:

  • $50 - Development referee workshop only (Level 2)
  • $70 - Foundation course and Development workshop bundle (Level 1+2)

Schedule: The NSWVRA runs a number of referee workshops across NSW throughout the year. The proposed scheduled course dates for 2017 are as follows:

  • Sat 8 July @ Sydney Olympic Park - REGISTRATION CLOSES MONDAY 3rd JULY
